MLS® (Multiwave Locked System) Cold Laser feature innovative
technology based on two wavelengths with two different emission modes (continuous and pulsed) designed to promote analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antioedema and tissue repair effects. How does Laser Therapy work?

Laser Therapy uses a high amount of light energy to penetrate deep into the skin and stimulate production of new proteins needed for cellular repair of injured tendons, muscles, blood vessels and nerves. This activity helps accelerate the body’s natural healing processes promoting repair and thus a faster recovery from injury and pain.

What is Laser Therapy generally used for?

Our MLS Cold laser can target a wide range of musculoskeletal pathologies such as joint disorders, tendinopathies, muscle lesions and tears, edemas and inflammation, actively reducing acute pain. The High Pulse technology of the MiS laser is designed to go even deeper into the body and target chronic and neuropathic (nerve) pain.

What conditions can laser therapy help with?

Many specific conditions respond well to laser treatment. These may include, but are not limited to, degenerative osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder, back pain, neck pain, headaches, migraines, TMJ and orofascial disorders, sports injuries, spinal disc injuries, muscle tears, carpal tunnel, bruising, tendon/ligament issues, sciatica and neurodynamic pathologies associated with nerve damage.

How often will I need to receive treatment and when can I expect to see some benefits?

The number of treatments is determined by the practitioner following a full history examination and will be based on the extent of the patient’s condition. In the majority of cases, patients will start noticing changes after 3 or 4 sessions.

Is laser treatment safe?

We take the safety of our team and patients very seriously. Treatment with laser is non-invasive and painless, making it a safe and effective form of therapy with little to no long-term side effects. As well as both our lasers having in-built safety mechanisms, our team at The Lillie Clinic has many years of experience in the administration of laser therapy and follows strict safety protocols. In particular, we ensure everyone exposed to the laser beam wears protective eye equipment. Laser therapy is not recommended during pregnancy.

When thinking of laser therapies combined with chiropractic care and rehabilitation, there are two specific approaches we favour which suit two different technologies:

About us

Dr Brett was first introduced to Cold Laser when he was studying Orofascial Pain and TMJ disorders as a therapy able to target the limiting movement aspects and pain associated with these difficult conditions. This lead to him purchasing his first Cold Laser in 2014 and integrating this therapy into the way he practices.

Since then Dr Brett has continued developing his skills in Laser Therapy both in America and Italy moving into the treatment of further musculoskeletal conditions and neuropathies, fully integrating laser into his rehabilitation strategies. In June 2020 Dr Brett was the first in Australia to purchase the ASA MiS laser featuring high intensity beam and advanced pulse technology. Really just a natural progression, this latest addition of laser treatment has allowed Dr Brett to further invest in the health of his clients by providing an effective way to target chronic and neuropathic pain conditions.
